深紅に輝く、がらりをジャムにしました。

「がらりって何？」と思われた方もいらっしゃるかもしれません。

がらりは、台湾原産の小ぶりなすもも。現在は主に鹿児島県で栽培され、奄美大島では「奄美すもも」や「奄美プラム」として親しまれている、収穫時期がとても短い貴重な果実です。

今回は、さらに農薬を使わず大切に育てられたがらりだけを使いました。

がらりの魅力は、宝石のような深紅の色合いと、すっきりとした酸味、そしてどこか花を思わせる華やかな香り。

そんな繊細な魅力をそのまま生かしたくて、隠し味にほんの少しだけダージリン紅茶を加えました。

「紅茶のジャム」ではありません。

紅茶は前に出ることなく、がらりの香りや果実味をそっと引き立て、味わいにやさしい奥行きと余韻を添えています。ひと口目はみずみずしい果実感、続いて広がるのは、すっきりとしているのにどこか落ち着きのある、上品な味わいです。

パンやヨーグルトはもちろん、スコーンやクリームチーズとも相性抜群。バニラアイスに添えれば、がらりの鮮やかな色と華やかな香りが引き立ち、少し特別なデザートになります。

Our Garari plum jam has arrived.

"What is Garari?" you might be wondering.

Garari is a small plum originally from Taiwan. Today it is mainly grown in Kagoshima, Japan, where it is also known as Amami Plum and has become one of the island's beloved seasonal fruits. Its harvest season is exceptionally short, making it a rare treat.
For this jam, we used only organically grown Garari plums cultivated without synthetic pesticides.

Garari is loved for its jewel-like deep crimson color, refreshing tartness, and delicate floral aroma.
To enhance these beautiful qualities, we added just a hint of Darjeeling tea.

This is not a tea-flavored jam.

The tea stays quietly in the background, gently enhancing the fruit's aroma while adding subtle depth and a long, elegant finish. The result is a jam that is bright and fruity at first taste, followed by a smooth, refined richness that lingers pleasantly.

Enjoy it on toast, with yogurt, scones, or cream cheese. It also pairs beautifully with vanilla ice cream, creating a simple yet elegant dessert.

Available only during the short Garari harvest season—enjoy this special taste of summer while it lasts.
